Lesson Recap for Sunday, October 1, 2006

Sunday's lesson was on "Taking Charge of Your Attitude". Sometimes we can't escape cruel and hurtful people. But the innocent person must take care not to answer insult with insult, which will only create a nasty, unending cycle of attitudes. God wants us to keep our attitudes in check, even when we are wronged. The lesson on David demonstrated three factors that allow us to control our attitudes in a world that doesn't seem to care: integrity, faith, and reputation. Refuse to compromise your values. Have faith and trust God to act justly. Build your reputation by letting a godly character be your only defense. Selfish attitudes can lead to lives full of resentment.
